Thanks to its geographical location, Montenegro has a colorful and diverse culture. It is a new country with a long history and its culture has been influenced by so many different countries who ruled in its land such as Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, Austria-Hungarian Empires and finally Yugoslavia.

As a result of sharing almost the same history and culture, similarities with the Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian and Albanian neighbors are enormous.

Montenegrins are traditional and they are proudly stick to their culture emerging from old times. They are patriarchal and family ties are important.
